Chantilly, le festival mondial du polo : 21 nations et 1 200 chevaux à la Ferme d’Apremont
Pendant trois semaines, le Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly accueillera plus de vingt-et-une nationalités, des amateurs aux meilleurs joueuses et joueurs de la planète, à travers quatre tournois disputés simultanément. Une diversité sans équivalent dans le polo européen. Avec l'Open de France BARNES comme tête d'affiche, Chantilly devient un véritable Festival mondial du polo. Plus de vingt drapeaux flotteront devant la Ferme d'Apremont, qui hébergera plus de 1 200 chevaux et réunira compétiteurs de tous niveaux venus des cinq continents.

Open de France BARNES 2026 : encore un cru exceptionnel
Treize équipes, cinquante-deux joueurs, douze nationalités et treize joueurs passés par le mythique Open d'Argentine : une nouvelle fois l'Open de France BARNES présentera un plateau d'une haute densité sportive. À quelques jours du lancement de la haute saison argentine, Chantilly confirme plus que jamais son statut de grand rendez-vous européen du très haut niveau.
Les tenants du titre d'Octogone reviennent avec de solides ambitions. Alexis Morange a conservé le duo qui avait fait merveille l'an dernier : David « Pelón » Stirling, dix fois vainqueur de l'Open d'Argentine avec La Dolfina, et l'Anglais Louis Hine, révélation de l'édition 2025. Ils seront rejoints cette année par Hazel Jackson, ancienne lauréate de l'Open féminin de France et habituée des plus grandes compétitions mixtes.
Le plateau 2026 impressionne encore une fois par son exceptionnelle concentration de joueurs passés par le l'emblématique Open d’Argentine. Treize « Palermistes » fouleront une nouvelle fois les terrains de la Ferme d'Apremont : Alejandro Muzzio, Juan Gris Zavaleta, Alfredo Bigatti, Alfredo Cappella, Teodoro Lacau, Juan Ruiz « Tito » Guiñazú, Facundo F. Llorente, Guillermo « Sapo » Caset, Juan Martín Zubia, Guillermo Terrera, Tommy Beresford, Gonzalo Ferrari et bien sûr Pelón Stirling. Peu de tournois européens, hormis ceux d'Angleterre et de Sotogrande, peuvent aujourd'hui se targuer d’une telle concentration de joueurs ayant évolué dans l'épreuve la plus prestigieuse du monde.
Cette édition mettra également en lumière une génération promise au plus brillant avenir. À seulement seize ans, Leon Donoso est déjà considéré comme l'un des plus grands espoirs du polo mondial. Il retrouvera d'autres héritiers des grandes dynasties argentines, parmi lesquels Dante Castagnola (20 ans), Pedro Chavanne (17 ans), Fermín McDonough (16 ans), Milo McDonough (16 ans) ou encore Blas Bensadon (20 ans). Autant de jeunes talents aux noms célèbres qui écriront probablement les prochaines pages du polo international dans les pas de leurs oncles et pères.
Les joueurs français ne seront pas en reste. Grâce notamment à la fidélité de Jean-Claude Le Grand, deux d'entre eux auront une nouvelle fois la chance de partager le terrain avec Guillermo Terrera, une expérience rare qui contribue à faire progresser le polo français. Quant au numéro un français Pierre-Henri Ngoumou, ancien finaliste de l'Open de France, il évoluera cette année sous les couleurs d'une ambitieuse formation emmenée par le capitaine mexicain German Coppel.
À la hauteur des éditions qui ont construit sa réputation, l'Open de France BARNES 2026 promet un nouveau grand millésime. Il ne reste désormais plus qu'à patienter jusqu'au 3 septembre pour le déguster match par match sur les terrains de la Ferme d'Apremont.

Chez les femmes aussi, Palermo s'invite à Chantilly
Quelques semaines avant le lancement de la saison argentine, Chantilly accueillera une nouvelle fois une impressionnante concentration des meilleures joueuses du monde à l'occasion de l'Open de France féminin SkinCeuticals.
L'édition 2026 réunira notamment Milly Hine, quintuple lauréate de l'Open d'Argentine féminin et codétentrice du record de victoires (avec Mia Cambiaso), Catalina Lavinia, sacrée à Palermo en 2025 avec La Dolfina et qui découvrira Chantilly pour la première fois, ainsi que deux autres anciennes reines de Palermo, Hazel Jackson et Lia Salvo. Elles retrouveront également Maitena Marré et Milagros Sánchez, deux des grandes références actuelles du circuit international.
Le tournoi réunira pas moins de quatorze nationalités, un chiffre encore supérieur à celui de l'Open de France BARNES, illustrant l'attractivité grandissante de l'épreuve bien au-delà des frontières françaises.
Milly Hine, qui avait remporté l’Open français en 2024, arrivera en pleine confiance après son récent succès au British Open. Aux côtés des grandes championnes déjà installées, une nouvelle génération emmenée notamment par la Sud-Africaine Charlie Spilsbury poursuit son ascension et confirme la formidable dynamique du polo féminin mondial.
Par la qualité de son plateau et sa diversité internationale, l'Open de France féminin SkinCeuticals confirme plus que jamais son statut de référence européenne. Si Palermo demeure le sommet de la discipline, Chantilly est devenu son rendez-vous incontournable de la fin de saison européenne.
Le Festival mondial du polo : haut niveau et amateurs réunis par la même passion
Autour de l'Open de France BARNES et de l'Open de France féminin SkinCeuticals, le Festival mondial du polo se prolonge avec le Trophée Castel et le Trophée du Capitaine des Jeux, permettant à des joueurs de tous niveaux de partager la même aventure sportive.
Le Trophée Castel réunira une nouvelle fois plusieurs équipes internationales venues notamment d'Allemagne, d'Italie, de Belgique et, pour la première fois, d'Arabie saoudite avec la formation Casa del Riyadh emmenée par Salman bin Sultan, récent vainqueur du Desert Polo d'AlUla. À ses côtés évolueront plusieurs jeunes professionnels français particulièrement prometteurs, parmi lesquels Jules Legoubin, Côme Dubois, Elouan Badarello, Corentin Mahé ou encore Ilan Bossard, tous appelés à jouer un rôle important dans l'avenir du polo français.
Le Trophée du Capitaine des Jeux prolongera cette même philosophie en offrant aux amateurs l'opportunité de vivre pleinement l'expérience de l'Open sur les mêmes terrains que les plus grandes stars internationales. L'Allemande Maike Hölty, qui participera en parallèle à l’Open féminin et au Trophée Castel, la Luxembourgeoise Marie Jeanne Kapweiler, le Suédois Niclas Johansson, en marge de sa participation à l’Open BARNES, ou encore Salman bin Sultan participeront également à ce tournoi de low-goal. Avec l'arrivée de l'Arabie saoudite, ce sont ainsi vingt-et-une nations qui seront représentées durant ces trois semaines de compétition.
Chaque jour, les matchs s'enchaîneront sur les terrains de la Ferme d'Apremont. Entrée libre, restauration avec le fameux Tacos Bar rénové, village d'exposants, food trucks lors des finales et même un Test Match international surprise viendront compléter le programme de ce rendez-vous unique.
Trois semaines de compétition, quatre tournois, vingt-et-une nations, plus de 1 200 chevaux : rarement le polo mondial aura trouvé un point de convergence aussi naturel qu'à Chantilly.
The World Polo Festival
For three weeks, the Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly will welcome representatives of more than 21 nationalities, from amateur players to some of the world's finest polo stars, across four tournaments played simultaneously. A level of diversity unmatched anywhere else in European polo. With the Open de France BARNES as its flagship event, Chantilly becomes a true World Polo Festival. More than twenty national flags will fly over the Ferme d'Apremont, home to over 1,200 horses and players of every level from all five continents.
Open de France BARNES 2026: Another Exceptional Vintage
Thirteen teams, fifty-two players, twelve nationalities and no fewer than thirteen players who have competed in the legendary Argentine Open will once again make the Open de France BARNES one of the strongest tournaments on the European calendar. Held just before the start of the Argentine high season, Chantilly has firmly established itself as one of Europe's premier high-goal destinations.
Defending champions Octogone return with serious ambitions. Alexis Morange has retained the formidable partnership that proved so successful last year, featuring David "Pelón" Stirling, ten-time Argentine Open champion with La Dolfina, alongside England's Louis Hine, one of the revelations of the 2025 season. They will be joined by Hazel Jackson, former Ladies French Open champion and one of the sport's leading mixed polo players.
The 2026 field once again boasts an exceptional concentration of players who have competed in the world's most prestigious tournament, the Argentine Open at Palermo. Alejandro Muzzio, Juan Gris Zavaleta, Alfredo Bigatti, Alfredo Cappella, Teodoro Lacau, Juan Ruiz "Tito" Guiñazú, Facundo F. Llorente, Guillermo "Sapo" Caset, Juan Martín Zubia, Guillermo Terrera, Tommy Beresford, Gonzalo Ferrari and, of course, Pelón Stirling will all take to the Chantilly. Outside England and Sotogrande, very few European tournaments can claim such an impressive gathering of Palermo veterans.
The tournament will also shine a spotlight on the sport's next generation. At just sixteen years of age, Leon Donoso is already regarded as one of polo's brightest young prospects. He will compete alongside other heirs to Argentina's great polo dynasties, including Dante Castagnola (20), Pedro Chavanne (17), Fermín McDonough (16), Milo McDonough (16) and Blas Bensadon (20), young talents whose famous surnames are likely to shape the future of international polo.
French polo will also be well represented. Thanks in particular to the continued commitment of Jean-Claude Le Grand, two French professionals will once again have the rare opportunity to play alongside Guillermo Terrera, an experience that continues to benefit the development of French polo. France's highest-rated player, Pierre-Henri Ngoumou, runner-up in the 2023 Open de France, will this year line up for the ambitious team led by Mexican patron German Coppel.
Following in the footsteps of the editions that built its reputation, the 2026 Open de France BARNES promises another outstanding vintage. All that remains is to wait until 3 September and savour every match on the magnificent grounds of the Ferme d'Apremont.
Palermo Comes to Chantilly
Just weeks before the start of the Argentine season, Chantilly will once again welcome an extraordinary concentration of the world's leading women players for the SkinCeuticals Ladies French Open.
The 2026 edition will feature Milly Hine, five-time Argentine Women's Open champion and joint record holder alongside Mia Cambiaso, Catalina Lavinia, who claimed her first Palermo title with La Dolfina in 2025 and will make her Chantilly debut, as well as former Palermo champions Hazel Jackson and Lia Salvo. They will be joined by Maitena Marré and Milagros Sánchez, two of the leading names on today's international women's circuit.
The tournament will welcome players from 14 different nations, an even broader international representation than the Open de France BARNES itself, highlighting the growing international appeal of the event.
Former French Open champion Milly Hine arrives fresh from her recent victory at the British Open, while a new generation, led in particular by South African rising star Charlie Spilsbury, continues to emerge alongside the sport's established champions.
Thanks to the exceptional quality of its field and its remarkable international diversity, the SkinCeuticals Ladies French Open has firmly established itself as Europe's benchmark women's polo tournament. While Palermo remains the pinnacle of the discipline, Chantilly has become the essential meeting point before the Argentine season begins.
The World Polo Festival: From Elite Competition to Polo for Everyone
Alongside the Open de France BARNES and the SkinCeuticals Ladies French Open, the World Polo Festival continues with the Trophée Castel and the Trophée du Capitaine des Jeux, allowing players of every level to experience the unique atmosphere of Chantilly.
The Castel will once again welcome international teams from Germany, Italy, Belgium and, for the first time, Saudi Arabia, represented by Casa del Riyadh, led by yadh emmenée par Salman bin Sultan, recent winner of the Desert Polo tournament in AlUla. He will be joined by a talented new generation of French professionals including Jules Legoubin, Côme Dubois, Elouan Badarello, Corentin Mahé and Ilan Bossard, all considered among the brightest prospects of French polo.
The Trophée du Capitaine des Jeux follows the same philosophy, giving amateur players the opportunity to enjoy the Open experience on the very same grounds as the world's best professionals. Germany's Maike Hölty, who will also compete in the Ladies French Open and the Castel Trophy, Luxembourg's Marie Jeanne Kapweiler, Sweden's Niclas Johansson, competing simultaneously in the Open de France BARNES, and Salman bin Sultan will all feature in this low-goal competition.
With the arrival of Saudi Arabia, the Festival will bring together 21 different nationalities over three weeks of competition.
Every day, matches will be played across the magnificent grounds of the Ferme d'Apremont. Free admission, the newly renovated Taco Bar, on-site catering, an exhibitors' village, food trucks during finals weekend and even a surprise international Test Match will all contribute to the unique atmosphere of the event.
