J-2 : La Polo Nations Cup s'impose sur le circuit international
Lancée en 2023 au Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly sous l’égide de la Fédération française de polo (FFP), la Polo Nations Cup a d’entrée pris ses marques et s’impose comme l’événement le plus important de début de saison du calendrier international français, accueillant cette année trois nouveaux pays : le Pakistan, terre ancestrale de polo, la Belgique, qui revient sur la scène du polo mondial et l’Italie, une des nations phares en Europe.
Dix équipes représentant trois continents et six nations dont trois à travers sept régions : la Polo Nations Cup a assurément pris son envol. Parmi les valeurs du Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly, fondé par Patrick Guerrand-Hermès en 1995, celle de l’amitié entre les peuples auquel il est attaché, prend toute sa dimension à travers cette compétition novatrice.
Pendant ces dix jours, des équipes sous couleurs des États-Unis, du Pakistan, de l’Allemagne, de l’Italie, de la Belgique et de la France vont s’affronter pour ce trophée prestigieux. Des formations comptant également en leurs rangs quelques grands professionnels argentins, des noms célèbres comme ceux de Tito Ruiz Guiñazu, joueur régulier de l’Open d’Argentine, Simon et Ramiro Zavaleta ou Valentin Novillo Astrada, issus de grandes familles argentines, de ces dynasties qui ont écrit l’histoire de ce sport.
Côté français, l’équipe PACA, tenante du titre et 100% tricolore, est composée de trois jeunes joueurs français, Dorian Bulteau, Louis Jarrige et Julien Reynes grâce à l’engagement fidèle de leur capitaine Jean-Claude Legrand. D’autres jeunes professionnels tricolores, tel le talentueux Elouan Badarello (19 ans), engagé par les Américains de l’Illinois ou encore Jules Legoubin (Occitanie) en forte progression cette année, seront également de la partie. Sans oublier Elena Venot, joueuse féminine professionnelle, handicap 2, qui tient un rôle essentiel au sein d’équipes mixtes, comme celle du Pakistan où elle est engagée pour cette Polo Nations Cup, et pays où elle a joué l’an dernier. De jeunes talents qui se sont révélés et développés au sein du Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly et dont certains représenteront la France dans le match commémoratif des Jeux olympiques de Paris 1924 qui l’opposera aux États-Unis en août prochain.
Polo Nations Cup goes from strength to strength
Launched in 2023 at the Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly under the auspices of the French Polo Federation (FFP), the Polo Nations Cup has immediately established itself as the most important early season event on the French international calendar and welcomed three new countries this year: Pakistan, the ancestral home of polo; Belgium, which is making a comeback on the world polo scene; and Italy, one of Europe's leading nations.
Ten teams from three continents and six nations: the Polo Nations Cup has taken off. Among the values of the Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly, founded in 1995 by Patrick Guerrand-Hermès, that of friendship between peoples, to which it is attached, is given full expression by this innovative competition.
Over ten days, teams from the United States, Pakistan, Germany, Italy, Belgium and France will compete for this prestigious trophy. The teams will also include some of Argentina's top professionals, with famous names such as Tito Ruiz Guiñazu, a regular at the Argentine Open, Simon and Ramiro Zavaleta and Valentin Novillo Astrada, who come from great Argentine families and dynasties that have written the history of the sport.
Playing for South-East France, the PACA team, title holders and 100% French, is made up of three young players, Dorian Bulteau, Louis Jarrige and Julien Reynes, thanks to the loyal commitment of their captain, Jean-Claude Legrand. Other young French professionals will also be taking part, including the talented Elouan Badarello (aged 19), playing for the Americans from Illinois, and Jules Legoubin (Occitanie), who is making great strides this year. And let's not forget Elena Venot, a professional female player who holds a key role in mixed teams such as Pakistan, a country she played in last year and a team she is part of in this Polo Nations Cup. Some of these young talents will represent France in the commemorative match of the 1924 Paris Olympic Games against the United States next August.
