Open de France ENGEL & VÖLKERS : sur la lancée de l'édition du vingtième anniversaire
L’Open de France 2020 restera à jamais un cru d’exception avec de grandes équipes, de grandes organisations et des joueurs argentins d’exception qui ont ensuite brillé lors de la haute saison argentine. Un élan qui semble se poursuivre puisqu’à ce jour, dix équipes ont déjà fait parvenir leurs engagements pour l’édition 2021 de la plus prestigieuse compétition de l’Hexagone, troisième étape de la Triple-Couronne française.
On se souvient encore de ces instants de magie sur les terrains du Polo Club de Chantilly, en septembre dernier, avec ces matchs de très haut niveau, qui a rassemblé quelques-uns des meilleurs joueurs du circuit international. Certains de ces grands joueurs seront de retour en septembre prochain, à commencer par le jeune prodige Jeta Castagnola, resté fidèle à l’équipe française grise et rose, Talandracas,d’Edouard Carmignac, aux côtés du Chilo-Irlandais Tommy Beresford, vainqueur de l’Open de France 2020 et finaliste de la Copa Camara en décembre dernier. Six autres joueurs de l’Open d’Argentine font déjà partie des engagés de l’édition 2021.
Huit joueurs de la « alta temporada » argentine déjà engagés
Alors que les engagements ne sont pas encore définitifs, l’Open de France ENGEL & VÖLKERS 2021 verra donc au moins sept joueurs animant la grande saison argentine. Ainsi, outre Jeta Castagnola et Tommy Beresford, le public de l’Open découvrira Jero Del Caril (au sein de l’équipe française Kazak) et reverra Martin Aguerre Jr (Marquard Media, SUI), Clemente Zavaleta (Sainte-Mesme, FRA), le jeune Rufino Bensadon et Juan-Gris Zavaleta (Le Pommeray, FRA) ou encore Tito Ruiz Guiñazu et Facundo Llorente (La Magdeleine, FRA). De grands joueurs, des guerriers, qui assureront le spectacle. Et la liste n’est pas close !
Belle présence française
Quinze joueurs et (une) joueuse tricolores apparaissent sur les listes dont sept capitaines, les deux handicaps 6 français, Brieuc Rigaux (Britanny Polo) et Pierre-Henri Ngoumou (Mungo), les handicaps 5 Patrick Paillol (Kazak), Robert Strom (Sainte Mesme) et Clément Delfosse (pour l’équipe allemande Schockemöhle qui reviendra de la Gold Cup anglaise) et la professionnelle Caroline Anier, (Le Pommeray) meilleure joueuse française de tous les temps qui avait été handicap 4 (mixte) il y a quelques années. Une autre équipe française, celle du jeune espoir tricolore Sam Sztarkmann,Majoa Polo Team, misera sur l’équilibre ayant engagé trois handicaps 5 argentins.

L’Open de France est une belle parenthèse d’enchantement dans le plus grand club de France : huit terrains dans un décor naturel, de belles images sportives, des batailles riches en émotion, dans une ambiance des plus simples en semaine, souvent au soleil couchant. Le Tacos Bar, le food-truck du polo, est toujours là, en bord de terrain pour étancher les soifs et apaiser les petites faims. Le week-end, les matchs sont commentés ce qui les rend plus compréhensibles pour le grand public.
Les vendredis sont particulièrement festifs avec ses célèbres apéros conviviaux dans l’Orangerie en bordure des terrains d’honneur avec une animation à l’issue du match du jour. Le jour des finales prend des allures de grand évènement avec un village prestige avec boutiques et animations, une Orangerie qui se transforme en restaurant haut de gamme, bar à champagne et toute une longueur de terrain dédié à un espace pique-nique chic. L’Open de France est l’occasion unique de découvrir un sport champêtre dans un cadre convivial, loin des idées reçues.
ENGEL & VÖLKERS 2021 French Open, Setting the momentum of the twentieth anniversary edition.
The 2020 French Open will forever remain a noteworthy classic with great teams, great organizations and exceptional Argentine players who went on to shine during the Argentine high season. The momentum seems to be continuing! So far, ten teams have already signed up for the 2021 edition of the most prestigious competition in France, the third step of the French Triple Crown.
We still have wonderful memories of those magic moments on the grounds of the Chantilly Polo Club last September 2020. Those very high-level games that brought together some of the best players of the international circuit.
Some of these great players will be back this September, starting with the young prodigy Jeta Castagnola, who has remained loyal to Edouard Carmignac's French team Talandracas, along with Chilean-Irish Tommy Beresford, winner of the 2020 French Open and finalist in the Copa Camara last December.
So far, eight players of the Argentine "alta temporada" have already confirmed their presence.
While the entries are not yet final, the ENGEL & VÖLKERS 2021 French Open will already feature at least seven players from the great Argentinean season. Fifteen French players appear on the list, including seven captains, the two French 6-goalers: Brieuc Rigaux (Britanny Polo) and Pierre-Henri Ngoumou (Mungo), the 5-goalers: Patrick Paillol (Kazak) and Robert Strom (Sainte Mesme), Clément Delfosse (for the German team Schockemöhle who, like La Magdeleine will return from the English high goal season). The French Open is a beautiful and enchanting interlude in the largest club in France. Eight playing fields in a natural setting, beautiful images of the sport’s fighting spirit full in emotion in a very leisurely atmosphere during the week, often at sunset. The Tacos Bar, the polo food-truck, is always there on the edge of the field to quench thirsts and appease small appetites. On weekends, the matches are commented, which makes them more understandable for the general public.
Fridays are particularly festive with the famous convivial aperitifs in the “Orangerie” along the fields of honor with entertainment after the day's match. On the day of the finals, there will be a prestigious village with stores and entertainment, an “Orangerie” that turns into an upscale restaurant, a champagne bar and perfect chic picnic areas that run the whole length of the field. The French Open is a unique opportunity to discover a country sport in a friendly setting, out of the ordinary!
